Welcome to the database of Plant Endogenous Target Mimics (PendoTMBase)

Target mimicry is a mechanism of inhibition of miRNA activity in plant. Target mimics (eTMs) can act as decoys for miRNA binding, therefore block the interaction between miRNAs and their target gene. With the recent progress made in Next-generation sequencing technology, a great amount of plant genomes and transcriptomes data is becoming available. And the sequences of the mature miRNAs were downloaded from miRBase (release 21). It is possible to predict eTMs by our algorithm for finding seed-matched target sites.

This database(PendoTMBase) provides detailed information of eTMs pridicted in 43 plant species with a total of 2669 nonredundancy eTMs available in the public database http://genetics.fafu.edu.cn/PendoTMBase. (Table 1) And it also provides a function of noval eTMs prediction based on miRNA sequences submitted by users. The number of deposited eTM records will increase as the new species are dissected for target mimicry. All sequences are available for download.
